La reseña también echa unas cuantas flores a John "that new hot-shit house producer" Talabot y apunta a Barcelona como "the next thing or other"?!

"Man, so almost as soon as we decided to cap the number of times we describe this recent and rather fruitful wave of glo-fi / hypnagogic pop / blah blah blah songs as perfect for going to the beach, for summer nights, and so forth, the next really big deal song that comes around is called, no shit, "Seasun". Since it's from Delorean, and featured on their Ayrton Senna EP, I guess I'll have to lede with a lame automobile joke instead.

Or I could mention that Delorean's hometown of Barcelona is shaping up to be the next something or other. Considering how good this EP is, how badly that city's El Guincho wishes his record came out this spring rather than last (when it was too slept-on and didn't fit in exactly with so many indie micro-trends), and that new hot-shit house producer John Talabot also calls the place home, I expect Barcelona is going to get a bit more attention. (Hey, three's a trend and all.) Talabot, by the way, also contributes a remix of "Seasun" to the Senna EP, and his big A-side/calling-card is called... "Sunshine". Hell, I give up.

Twist: The shorter, dance-y original is better than the longer, dance-y remix. And that hints at one big reason this song works so well: Unlike all of this low-bitrate-sounding electronic music going around, "Seasun" is big and fierce. It builds slowly and it explodes in the right places. Don't worry rock kids: It also sounds like it was made by guys in tune to both Sincerely Yours and True Panther. And despite Delorean in general being a verse-chorus electro-pop band (most of their songs are closer to Cut Copy, but with a full-band set-up), it doesn't wink and nod too much at the vocals. I guess this is what you get from a rock band that excels at remixing rather than moonlights in it, and we're looking forward to hearing more."

A tope chavalessssss!!!
